Dear ___,

Sorry it took me a while to send you an email, as far as I know Alex mentioned to you that I would be subbing for you on the 10th and 17th of May, which you have confirmed is OK.

As you know, I will be giving a workshop on the 18th at your studio which will be focused on hip mobilization and stabilization – and I just wanted to make sure you’re aware that I’m yet to arrange my Teacher Insurance, so I have arranged for Alex to co-teach with me to cover me in the event of any issues. Is that OK with you?

I’m really looking forward to being back in Boulder in May and sharing yoga with you guys.

Regards,

Your Guru is not your neighbour but also they might live 3 villages away.

Have you noticed when we have been practicing yoga for a while we begin to long for something deep for a connection, but you might not even the language to manifest it. What is that? That sense of craving doesn’t have a solid form or exact idea yet to describe it but this is a moment that you will start looking for your guru or for yourself.

However, there is a variety of yoga styles and teachers – how would you know which one is suitable for you?

Maybe one day, there is a teacher standing before you, you understand their knowledge or teaching but  time restriction, self doubt, and laziness prevent you from allowing yourself to study with them.

make lots of excuses… relationships are fleeting, catch them while you can or miss out forever. They are rare and precious. We can practice but animals cannot. Go against the grain. Step off the beaten track / path. Don’t go guru shopping. The best may not be the most popular but their humility and wisdom are awaiting you.
