My daily schedule for a regular working day

I usually wake up at 7am then go wash up, get dress and have breakfast. Then spend 1 hour on the road then arrive at office at 9am. In order to start my work, I will need a lot of caffeine so I prefer a cup of black coffee over thick tea every morning.

After I get my coffee, I would browse through my email box and set the priority for each email. Emails from clients are always the top priority and need to reply to them by the end of today, no matter if I have a concrete answer or not, sometimes, it just a notice to tell them when I am able to answer their questions.

There is a trick that I can share with you, for questions you would like to have the answer back by the end of today, they will need to be sent to vendors in the morning so you can push them for reply in the afternoon. It works in most of the cases and when vendors are fully cooperated with you, unless the questions you ask include many data or something related to lab testing, then vendor will need more time to collect the information. Even in that kind of situation, you should always ask them to give you a date for answers.

After receive all the answers and feedback from vendors, I will start to organize my answers to the client. In the email, I will usually state the good news or the most important information in the first paragraph and follow with some details. If there are bad news, I will give more details to explain the whole situation and with some solutions to ask for clientā€™s understanding.

I always work over time, since I like to double check everything and want to use the most accurate way to express myself to the client. However, my new boss said that he is not appreciated OT, but the next thing he said is that you can bring your computer homeā€¦I donā€™t really know the differences between OT at office or OT at homeā€¦
