I am gonna share with you a story that make me totally disappointed with my big boss. Actually there are lots of small things make me feel same awful, but this is the main thing.
One time, we had a big group for 33people. Normally we do something different for big groups. It is more complicated than normal small tours. For this tour, they decided to cross the river and finished at Shanghai Tower. At the beginning, we all at Hotel Andaz where is our pickup location. After we finished the safety brief, clients would go on bikes with our tour leaders. I went straight to shanghai Tower to bought some tickets for the guests and waited them at parking place. After they arrived I pass the tickets to the tour leaders, our guys guided the guests walk to Shanghai Tower. Then our guys back to the parking place to help me carry the bikes into a truck. This was the plan.
The first problem that I had was about the time. The group was on Sunday’s afternoon. It means we would need to do some prepare work during the morning and this was our first time to do tours with these many people. Actually not only Sunday, I had to work since that Saturday, same as our tour leaders.
The second problem was the weather. The rain was so heavy on that day and it caused we waited so long for a truck and made everyone uncomfortable.
After the tour finished at parking place, we called three trucks. Both my manager and my big boss wanted to save some money from this, so they didn’t want to pay extra money to the driver to let him help us carry the bikes into the truck.
The rain was so heavy and we had many things, 37bikes, because we had 33clients plus 4 tour leaders, 37helmets,37locks,37raincoats and some bottles of water.
We waited 2hrs in the rain, the tour finished around 5pm, at 7pm we got the first truck. We were two girls and three boys. The first truck must took 2people back to Andaz, as we only can count on ourself to transport all the things. Then three of us were still waiting for another two trucks. After we all arrived at andaz, we had to clean a big mess in front of us, put everthing back to the original place.
When we finished all the work was around 9pm, then we went to eat dinner together. During 10pm i was on the way back to my home. I was super tired. My manager was on his holidays during that weekend, before he left he told me I could rest on next Monday and Tuesday to get compensation. However during that time I was like 50% time working for the clothing company. To be nice, I sent a message to my big boss to inform him as per my manager’s message that I would need to be off on Monday and Tuesday. Then he refused me, his excuse was I worked for bike tour company, so I could only get rest during my bike tour company’s time. And he told me for him, working on weekends it means they would pay me extra money, not get the same days rest. Then I asked how much I can get paid for this weekend, he told me he has no idea, need to talk with my manager first, however my manager was on his holidays, so cannot bother him. I was super angry and told him need to pay at least double daily salary for me, if he wanted to pay extra money for me. Then he said: It is too late now, I need to sleep, see you tomorrow! After this shit happened to me, I totally disappointed with my big boss. He is a smart guy on business but he is really bad at human relationship.

When we finished all the work, it was around 9pm, and then we went to eat dinner together. Around 10pm i was on the way back to my home and I was super tired. My manager was on his holidays during that weekend, and before he left he told me I could rest next Monday and Tuesday to get compensation. However during that time I was working 50% of the time for the clothing company. To be nice, I sent a message to my big boss to inform him as per my manager’s message that I would need to be off on Monday and Tuesday. Then he refused me, and his excuse was I worked for the bike tour company, so I could only get rest during my bike tour company’s time. And he told me for him, working on weekends it means they would pay me extra money, not get the same days rest. Then I asked how much I can get paid for this weekend, he told me he has no idea, and he needed to talk with my manager first. However my manager was on his holidays, so he couldn’t bother him. I was super angry and told him  they need to pay at least double daily salary for me, if he wanted to pay extra money for me. Then he said: It is too late now, I need to sleep, see you tomorrow! After this shit happened to me, I was totally disappointed with my big boss. He is a smart guy with / in business but he is really bad at human relationships / he has really bad people skills / interpersonal skills
