Companies have a variety of methods to improve the sales of their products. What are some of the common methods? Which is the most effective method in your opinion and why?

In the early days, customers can only purchase goods and services through high street shops, and market places played an important roles in the sales process for a long time. With the improvement of technology, the sales process is becoming transparent and accessible for customers, in which customers can learn the products and make order easily through the online platform, such as wechat or webpage. Customers do not need to visit the market place anymore, but do the shopping online. The rapidly growth of online sales process is revolutionary because it saved lots of fixed cost for corporates, also changed customers buying habits. However, at the same time, it brings new challenges for both customers and company. Firstly, there are lack of buying experience and interactive between shop owners and buyers, as most transaction process are through electronic devices. Secondly, the marketing costs has increased dramatically for each company and this is the key investment to get more traffic online. Thirdly, the logistic cost increased rapidly at the same time, because customers are spoiled with the speed delivery. The results of challenges is that the online shops is not as profitable as before. Starting from last year, combining offline and online sales has graduately becoming the new popular strategy in the current market, which is the new concept of NEW RETAIL.

There is no perfect sales strategy, but it will needs to be evolved with the market and customers at all time. Sales is key part of every successful business. All the efforts in research & development and marketing are for the purpose of selling and making profits. A good sales strategy will bring in right customers, and within a healthy business circle, which should be plan in long term. I do believed that a good sales strategy need to be creative and understand the really need of the market. The difficulty for sales role is that market is changing all the time. The feedback from frontline salesperson are precious to the company, because they have clear observation of the market movement and trend.
