Nowadays,an increasing number of people are concerned about the phenomenon that a fast-paced life makes younger people run out of steam / overly stressed. Some people state that they are happier than previous generations under comparatively relaxed economic conditions; Others believe that competitive pressure keeps them improving either passively or actively. I agree with the view that keeping the same pace with the development is not a easy thing, for the following reasons.

Firstly it is clear that for most parents, an excellent score on test papers and good personality are not enough. This means that younger people will be required to sacrifice spare time to participate in olympic mathematics, musical instruments courses instead of watching cartoons, having outdoor activities. More precisely, parents set high expectations for children and don’t ask whether they are interested in it or not.

Moreover, regular information and knowledge from class can not help teenagers stand out from their peers. The fact is that many developing countries including China are updating the compulsory education which is more diverse than before. For example the college entrance examination may take the oral English test as a standard in the future / in the coming years. So today’s teenagers are facing the significant challenges not only from parents but also from the progressing society.

Of course there were a lot of incredible difficulties that the previous generation experienced. At early ages, study at the college almost was a dream of people in general / most people. Because of the depression / the economic downturn, their first priority was to make money after growing up / after they had grown up and take care of their little sister and brother / siblings.

In summary, societies which rapidly develop need teenagers to make more effort / put effort in to achieve what they want / desire. However different ages have different pressures. It’s better to try to use your stress as a form of motivation for self improvement, rather than to complain.Â
