high tolerance – medicine / drugs

take the edge off – relax you and stop you feeling as stressed as before

I’m on edge – stressed / not relaxed
I was on the edge of my seat – not relaxed at all

take – choose to use some time for sth / use an opportunity
eg. I take 10 minutes every day to meditate / I take English class on Tuesdays

pointless / useless / waste of time 

traffic – cars, buses, trucks on the road
eg. the traffic is really bad

transport – go from A to B / a method of traveling
eg. i have no transportation so I have to walk

left a bad taste in my mouth 
eg. it was a great experience but the way they treated me left a bad taste in my mouth

conduct themselves – the way they act
eg. they know how to conduct themselves

innate – sth that is built into your brain
eg. it’s an innate response to try to help babies

eg. fitness and your career are entwined / fitness is really entwined in your lifestyle and personality
