Tell me about yourself / introduce yourself

Started in banking after graduation since 2007, majority is accounting (masters), DBS first job, 1 year rotating mgmt trainee, relationship manager local and large corporate – got a direct and deep understanding of clients due to it being marketing, then joined BA in 2010, risk mgmt dept, job was preparing assessment sheet for several companies, short summary for full credit memo, used to present to committee meeting – enabled me to have a risk oriented mindset, taught me how to balance return and risk, after 6 years xferred to ANC, current working as credit analyst, daily = local memo for local corporates, deal structures, analysis, financial projections. Portfolio = 10 clients, CMC, SH farmer, POE. Traveling, painting, spending time with my family. I’m the type of person who ….

I did this – why should you care? (because it prepares for this job)

I’m the type of person who – for life + for your work
eg. I’m the type of person who always looks at an issue with a positive mindset and looks for a fix and a better way of doing things.

Elevator Pitch = 1 sentence that can sell you quickly and get the person familiar with the subject matter.

Why did you leave your previous job? / Why are you looking for a new job?

good platform to learn things, meet new people, new industries, get familiar with new products, I find that I’m inspired when I’m able to make a difference and improve things around me, and I can’t do that now. = driven + motivated + not afraid of change + inspired by new things and learning + position addition to the team.

analysis / critical thinking / experience + knowledge / people skills / negotiation skills

How do you deal with high pressure situations and heavy work load?

Dealt with it before, prioritize my work clearly, I’m a particularly calm and logically thinking person / people around me say I’m particularly calm – give an example of a time you had a lot of pressure and how did you deal with it better than others?

Tell the story: what was the difficulty, what did you do to overcome it? what was the result? (praise / satisfied / award / learning)

What are your weaknesses?

Direct / indirect balance – sometimes I find it difficult to know when to be direct and how to be direct so I feel that this can sometimes cost time which is something that I know is important in this job. I found that this was an issue recently and I’m working really hard to improve it because I think it’s something that could make my job easier and allow me to do more effective and efficient work.
