Vocabulary

Igloo – a house made of ice

Oval – egg shape 

Rectangle – long square 长方形

Dual – two of something (dual-citizenship = 2 passports)

Trilogy – a set of 3 books/movies
eg. I loved watching movie trilogy on days when the weather was bad.
Saga – a really long story that continues through many movies

Bi – something  with 2 (bicycle = two wheels)
Tri- something  with 3 (tricycle = three wheels)
Quad – something  with 3 (quad bike = 4 wheels)

Proportion – the size of a few things compared with each other

eg. Christmas songs are often very catchy and everyone sings them.

King/Queen – Male/female rulers of certain countries called kingdoms

Emperor/Empress – the China/Japanese version of King an Queen

Label/Tag – a meaning you put on something (name/price sticker)

I have been in South of China for more than 6 years, I talk to Southern people everyday. So it is normal that my accent got has (or don’t need to use has) changed. But some of my friends cannot accept it. Once I went back to my hometown for the CNY, I hung out with some friends and one of them said that my accent was super weird and I should correct it. At that time, I didn’t realized that my accent got had changed, so I was a bit confused. She kept complaining about my accent and asked me not to talk to her anymore. The accent that I had now made her uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable as well. I don’t think an accent can influence a friendship. Obviously, it really does, because after that party we had had, she never talks to me and neither do I we never spoke (with each other).
In China, Southern people like Northern accents as they can very funny, it sounds like are singing a song. However North people don’t like Southern Accents.
