Trump’s policy and China’s reasonable reaction
After 1 year’s touch and facing some critical issues together such as North Korea’s nuclear weapon, Trump seems have made a clear position of the relationship between the States and China, and now begins to change current situation and get back the dominant position in the economical communication.
As a businessman, Trump has anger towards the advantage China has taken during the past 30 years, which is easily to understand. But as a freshman in presidency, he still gave it a try to explore the possibility of cooperation with China in critical politics issues, and wanted to see if China could be a friend. And it turned out to be negative. With the 30 years’ experience of dealing with the American presidents and politicians, Chinese leaders tended to believe that there was no problem unsolvable before billions of business. If there was, just give the States more business. Apparently that was not what Trump wanted. From China he wants cooperation in politics and fair business mechanism. To be more specific: if China doesn’t cooperate in politics, the States will try to manage by itself and consider China a potential enemy. If China thinks business could solve the economical conflict between the 2 countries, he will set up a new mechanism which he thinks fair enough even risk the trade war and the loss of all the business. And without a doubt, as a businessman he knows clearly what leverage he has, and he’s quite confident he will win in the end.

Now it’s China’s turn to trouble. By unbalanced trade, exploiting local labors and businesses and polluting the environment, China has made a tremendous fortune, with which China could give orders as it wants all over the world. All the nations will give in to it for the sake of the business. And it did work for many years. Unfortunately this time it met a politician who wasn’t willing to be bought by a tremendous business. He wants a fair business mechanism, which is not possible for China to provide. China is in a dilemma now.
