Vocabulary

Negligence – failure to take proper care in doing something.

Due diligence – Responsibly  checking and taking precautions for anything you do (important for finance)

In what capacity did you work in Finance? = what kind of role/responsibility did you have while working in Finance?

Conflict of interests – When you have two different responsibilities, and one of them might cause you to do something illegal to prevent you from being negatively affected. (pushing you to do something illegal)
eg. It is never okay to take gifts from clients in the finance industry.

Confidentiality – Keeping all information thought to be important secret and protected within the law and regulations of the industry

Ride the wave – following a clients trading activity

Reconciliations – a financial task that compares the changes between financial balances based on the transactions to see if they matched. So transactions should match with the change in balance.

Chinese wall – prevent sharing information with in your own company.
