Alteration/Alter: to change something, to make it different

e.g. He asked me to alter my proposal because it did not fit well with his personal preferences.

e.g. She made a few alterations on the design and it was eventually approved by her manager.

Hard Design: Relates to the structural alteration of space

e.g. She prefers hard design because she can plan where to place windows and walls.

Soft Design: Relates to colors and the physical decoration of a place.

e.g. His passion for soft design has made him become a very famous interior designer.
