Pandora’s Box- From Greek Mythology, a woman opens a box and all the evils of the world fly out of it, means to lead to many problems.

e.g. When we did a review of our accounts,  we really opened up pandora’s box; there were so many mistakes we found!

High maintenance- Someone who needs a lot of time to take care of their appearance.

e.g. Her boyfriend is very high maintenance, he spends an hour every morning doing his hair.

Demanding- To expect and ask things of people.

e.g. My boss is so demanding, he asks us to work late almost every day.

Optimistic- To see the good side of things.

e.g. I try to be optimistic and see the good in people.

Pessimistic- To see the negative part of everything.

e.g. My father is very pessimistic, he always thinks about the bad outcomes.

Confirm vs Ensure, Ensure means you have a responsibility to make sure something is right, while confirm just means you want to verify that something is the way you think it is.

hold you accountable & hold you responsible mean the same thing.
