Vocabulary

Customs-  a kind of tradition that people practice in different parts of the world.

e.g. In Wenzhou the custom for getting married is that the bride usually has to give the groom’s family a dowry.

Dowry-  a tradition where the bride has to give money or things to her husband’s family.

e.g. In China, the dowry tradition is actually illegal, you cannot force people to give you gifts.

Loan/Mortgage- When you take money from the bank, and have to pay it back at a later time.

e.g. I took  a loan from the bank to pay for my new car. I also signed a mortgage so I could buy a new house.

Borrow- When you want to use someone’s thing for a period of time.

e.g. I always let people borrow my pens but they never give them back, so I don’t let them anymore.

Fusebox- baoxiangui a kind of box that turns off the electricity.

e.g. If the power goes out in your house, you have to check the fusebox.

Bed sheets- chuang dan  cotton sheets you put on your bed to sleep on.

e.g. I always buy my bed sheets from Muji.

Yesterday was 12 12, I need to buy clothes for my taobao customers. Yesterday I went to Jiaxing and to rent some money from the bank. I got up at 5:30 then take the tren to jiaxing. My parents need this money for their business so I need to rent some moneys. Tomorrow I will go back to my hometown so I need to get up at 5:00 o’clock it’s so terrible. I need arrive the hongqiao station at 6:30.  the tre will start at 6:30 am. I will stay at hometown for two days becaurse I need to repair something about my engagement. We have engagement in January 8.  So we need to do this thing before our engagement so tomorrow is a big day. Because Chinese like to choose some big day to celebrate and maybe to get engaged. I will be back Sunday because I need to work .
