Homework

Try using a few of the words we learned this lesson to write a short paragraph about anything you like, it can be a story or anything else.

Vocabulary

Obvious- Something that is easy or plain to see.

e.g. It’s obvious that I’m a girl.  It’s obvious it’s not raining because no one is using an umbrella.

Profile- Something that has a lot of your personal information and lets other people learn about you.

e.g. On my Sina profile, you can see what books I have read last year because every time I finish one, I put it on my blog.

e.g. If you want to see your class notes on Smart Yingyu, first you have to log into your profile.

Colleague/Co-worker-People you work with.

e.g. My colleague suggested we go to Bangkok on the last three days of October.

Bangkok, Thailand- The capital of Thailand, a very entertaining/fun place to go.

e.g. I really like going to Bangkok for a few days vacation.

Massage- When someone rubs your body.

e.g. Thailand is very famous for massage and it’s very cheap.

Blind- When someone can’t see because of an illness or accident.

e.g. It is not easy for blind people to walk around Shanghai.

Lamb-(yang rou)- An animal people usually eat in Xinjiang.

e.g. I like eating lamb but I cannot eat it everyday.

Spices-(xiang liao) Things we put in food to give it more flavor.

e.g. If you are Buddhist,  (fo jiao), you are not supposed to eat too many spices in your food.

Pomegranate- (shi liu) A fruit filled with small red pearls that are sweet and a bit sour.

e.g. In Xinjiang, pomegranate is used to make juice, and it’s very sweet and delicious!
