Vocabulary

Shawl- A long piece of fabric that we wear to cover ourselves.

e.g. In Thailand, we usually have to wear a shawl to enter the temple.

Broth- A kind of clear liquid that we drink, like soup. It gives flavour to food.

e.g. Ramen is usually served in pork bone broth.

Squid- (calmar) A kind of creature that lives in the sea. (Not octopus) It has a pointy head).

e.g. One of my favorite foods is fried calamari, but you have to use fresh squid to make it.

Chewy- When you have to chew on something for a long time, it’s chewy.

In-laws-(your husband or wife’s parents)

e.g. My in-laws are coming to visit us in Shanghai next week.

Easygoing- (sympa)–  When someone gets along with other people very well, and doesn’t start arguments.

e.g. My mother-in-law is a very easy going person, so we all really like her.

Protest- (Manifestation) when you go outside and make noise because you think something is not right.

e.g. We protested against having to work overtime with no extra salary.

Uniform- When employees have to wear the same clothing at work.

e.g. Uber drivers sometimes wear uniforms to work.

In Thailand, I always ate some Thai food like red curry, green curry (not carry) tom yum soup, some vegetable with shrimp sauce,  I so much like thai I eat two or three times per week, I like something spicy and a little bit sweet. When I ate in Thailand, it didn’t spend/expensive.

In Japan, I ate the barbeque in chicken, the skin of the chicken, it was very oil, I like oily things. I ate ramens in pork BROTH- some SQUID balls, and Japanese hotpot which is a bit sweet. We didn’t eat sushi because my husband’s father has a sushi restaurant in Paris.

They already meet before.
