Homework

Write a small piece on traditional Chinese tea ceremony. You can what the different things are called or how you serve the tea, anything you like.

Vocabulary

Worth (it’s not worth it)- the value something has, good or bad.

e.g. I think 4000 a night at the Bvlgari hotel is not worth it.

Argument- When two people don’t agree on something, and start to fight with words.

e.g. My friend and I had an argument last night about who would pay for dinner.

Peninsula- A small island or piece of land that is surrounded by water. It is also the name of a very famous English hotel.

e.g. In Hong Kong, The Peninsula hotel is famous for its afternoon tea.

Scones- A kind of bread that the British really like to eat when drinking tea.

e.g. My favorite thing to eat is a hot scone right out of the oven.

Caviar- A kind of food that is made with the eggs of a fish.

e.g. I tried some caviar for the first time last night. It was delicious!

Dutch (Helan ren/ Helan yu)- People or language that comes from Holland.

e.g. My best friend is Dutch but now he lives in Shanghai.

Lie- something you say that isn’t true.

e.g. When kids are young, they often have a bad habit of telling lies.

Curious- When you want to know or learn more.

e.g. Ever since I was young, I have always been very curious.

Habit- Something you do regularly, can be good or bad.

e.g. I think smoking is a really bad habit for someone to have.
