Vocabulary

Squat Toilet- A Toilet commonly found in Asia where a person must squat instead of sitting down.

e.g. The first time I came to China I had serious culture shock because I wasn’t expecting to have to squat when going to the toilet.

Reverse Culture Shock- When you go to a foreign culture, and you return to you own, you find many things shocking.

e.g. When I go to India and return to Canada, I have reverse culture shock because I can sit down while going to the bathroom.
