Review the vocabulary and try writing a short story of something if you can time. Maybe on your New Year’s trip.

Vocabulary

Pointless/Useless- something with no reason, something you don’t have to do.

e.g.  It is pointless to work hard if you spend all your money right away.

Get well soon- I’m sorry to hear you’re sick, please get well soon.

Stressful- when you feel very nervous and not comfortable.

Punish- If someone does something bad, you do something bad to them

e.g. If you steal, you will get punished.

Issue- shiqing

e.g. An aging population is a very big issue in Japan.

On the one hand, on the other hand.

Aging- Getting older

e.g. My parents are aging, they are almost 70 years old.

Population-renkou how many people a place has.

e.g. China has the world’s biggest population.

Suppress- so stop someone or something from happening.

e.g. to stop someone from doing something

Duty- Something we have to do.

e.g. It is our duty to take care of our parents.
