Vocabulary

Bridge- qiao, something that connects two parts, something you walk on.

e.g. In Chengdu, there is a famous bridge called Jiuyanqiao, or in English, it’s called 9 eyes bridge.

Area- di fang,  place

e.g. What area in Chengdu did you used to live in.

Airport- ji chang the place that airplanes fly

e.g. If you go to the airport, it means you are going to fly somewhere.

e.g. Fly, will fly, flew.

How did you come to Shanghai?

I flew from Chengdu to Shanghai.

How much was the ticket/how much did it cost?

It cost 2000 yuan.

How long did it take/how long is the flight?

It took 3 hours.

Can you come by train?

Yes,  but it takes a long time.

How long?

About 11 hours.

Instrument-  yue qi something we play that makes music

e.g. My favorite instrument is the piano.

Conservatory- yinyuexueyuan a place that people study and play music.

e.g. The Sichuan Conservatory of Music is very famous in China.

Grammar

Sometimes I like to go to bars with my friends

Last month I went to Chengdu to a bar called Temple House.

Next month I will go to Beijing to a bar called the Middle House

Karaoke- ka la ou kei somewhere you go to sing with you friends

I listen to music in English but I don’t understand the meaning/ I don’t understand the lyrics.
