Vocabulary

Candle- something made of wax  that you light on fire to make light

e.g. I love to buy candles that smell nice.

Make a bet– da du when you play for money to see if someone can or cannot do something

e.g. I made a bet that I can run faster than him.

To light- to light something on fire, a candle, a fire.

e.g. When I went camping, I helped my friends light a fire so we could cook the meat.

Grinder/to grind-  a machine that is used to break some thing down into small pieces.

e.g. In ancient times, they would make soy milk using a stone grinder.

Reading the coffee cup/tea leaves-  a kind of fortune telling

e.g. my mom always wants to look at my cup to tell me my fortune .

Breaking/Smashing a record- da po jilu when you manage to do something more than the last time you did it.

e.g. This year, 11.11 broke last year’s total sales. I think they sold 250 billion

Maximum- zuiduo the highest possible number of something

Minimum-zuishao the lowest possible number  of something

11/11 it is a nice day and It’s also a day to spend money. Because this day you can buy really cheap things from taobao. Taobao is amazing app and I think every Chinese knows it. It is really convenient to buy anything you want. So I made a list for this 11/11 first because If you do an order on 11/11 then maybe you will forget what you want. It took me 2 hours to buy what I wanted. A big bag of food for my dog and I thought it’s enough for him to eat for a year. A shower for my father because the last was broken.
