Do a short piece of writing on a Middle Eastern building you really like. Describe it.

Vocabulary

Shrine- A very important place we make for prayers.

e.g. Mecca is the most famous Muslims shrine in the world.

Pilgrim- A person who is religious and travels to go pray.

e.g. Many pilgrims leave their home and go pray, often spending many years there.

Worshipers- People who admire or love a God.

There were many worshipers in the Church this afternoon.

Massive-Something huge

e.g. They built a massive building right in front of our office, so now we can’t see anything.

Greet-  say hello to a person

e.g. The receptionist must greet customers when they enter the room.

Formenting/Inciting- Trying to start something negative, egging on

e.g. He was trying to incite violence by telling them the other one was insulting the other.

Surge- When something increases quickly.

e.g. There was a surge in sales on Taobao during 11.11

Neo-Nazi- A modern, current day Nazi, who believes the same or similar ideas.

e.g. There are many neo-nazis who post things on the internet today.

Divisive- Something that divides people, that pushes them apart.

e.g.  The topic of immigration is sometimes very divisive.

Rhetoric- huayanqiaoyu a way of speaking and making people believe ideas

e.g. He used hateful rhetoric to make people get angry

Oppose- To reject or refuse something

e.g. Many Chinese oppose buying Japanese products.

Denounce- qianze same as condemn

Decline- Refuse

Blame- To say someone did something wrong

e.g. he blamed me for breaking his favorite cup but it wasn’t me.
