Allbirds is a Silicon Valley startup company which make eco-friendly and sustainable shoes. It was founded in March 2016 by Tim Brown who was a vice capital of the New Zealand football team and Joey Zwillinger who is a biotech engineer and renewable materials expert.
The company sells a few kinds of shoes which is made of ethically sourced natural material. It seems that the company set a different way to sell consumer goods. When you surfed on internet and you will found that many celebrities like this brand because it have many new concepts about environment protection. Meanwhile, many customer also found that shoes coming from allbirds are very comfortable.
Recently, the brand became more popular in America. The company collaborated with large retail stores for selling their shoes, which let many people were familiar with allbirds. In the next few years, if the company wants to expand its business, Asia is one of the most important location where it is needed to be considered seriously especially china. Taobao which is the biggest online retail platform in china has emerged several oversea agencies to buy allbirds shoes from America and sell them in China. Allbirds has set a branch in china in 2018. However, it is a tough road for allbirds to broaden its oversea market especially in China. China’s market has many its own characteristics, such as lacking brand and patent protection, Imitated product etc. From this point of view, Allbirds has a very long way to go

Vocabulary

Veteran- A soldier who has fought in a war and is now retired.

e.g. In America, there are many veterans who don’t have jobs because they never finished their education.

PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)- A mental disease soldiers get because they experienced a lot of mental trauma during the war.

e.g. Many veterans from the Vietnam war still experience PTSD and were never able to return to normal.

Survivor’s Guilt- Soldiers who feel bad for not dying during the war.

e.g. He came back from the war and was having survivor’s guilt because he was the only one left alive.

Moose-  tuo lu a very big animal, kind of like a deer that lives mostly in Northwestern Canada.

e.g. Many highways in remote areas in Canada have warning signs that Moose are crossing.

Antlers- The horns that deer or moose have.

e.g. Many people like to take the antlers from a deer and put them on the wall.

Tusks- Teeth that grow out of the mouth.

e.g. Boars have tusks and can attack you.

Boar- A wild pig.

e.g. If you go hiking in Hong Kong, it is very common to see boars on the trail.

Quail- a small bird, found in the wild

Boa Constrictor- a very large and powerful snake that kills things by choking them.

e.g. You can also find boas on many of the trails in HK.

Game meat-  Any kind of wild animal that you hunt and eat.

e.g. My favorite kind of game meat is boar.

Road Kill- Some animal you killed on the road.

e.g. Some people in America eat roadkill.

Slaughterhouse- The place where animals are killed.

e.g. I once passed a slaughterhouse and I could hear the pigs screaming from inside.

Adrenaline- shenshangxiansu  a kind of hormone your brain produces when you are stressed or in a dangerous situation.

e.g. They says that adrenaline makes you faster, stronger, and smarter but you can’t always be in that state.
