Vocabulary

Director- The one who manages everything, top level in an organization.

e.g. I wouldn’t want to be a hospital director, all they do is manage and never have time to practice medicine.

Chaos- Confusion, when things are messy, disorder.

e.g. If there is a fire in the hospital, there is usually chaos; everyone is running around pushing each other to escape.

Peak Season- The busiest period in business, especially in regards to sales or deadlines.

e.g. This month is my company’s peak season so I have to work overtime every night.

Scandal- Something that happens and shocks a lot of people because they didn’t expect it.

e.g. There was a scandal in China two months ago when people found out that some vaccines were unsafe or expired.

Fed up- yan fan- When you are tired of something and won’t accept it anymore.

e.g. I am fed up of working overtime, tomorrow I’m going to quit.

Measles- ma zhen-

Chicken pox- shuidou

Respond better to a new treatment- when something works better for treating the patient than something before.

Quantitative- Has to do with numbers

e.g. I took quantitative methods and statistics in college.

Qualitative– to do with descriptions of things

e.g. Please prepare a qualitative report
