Vocabulary

Program/Software- something we use on our computers, like an APP.

e.g. I only use one program at work every day, that program is excel.

Performance- Some kind of show or activity that needs a person to go on stage

e.g. I am a very famous performer, many people want to see my performance.

e.g. My company decided to test me yesterday but I didn’t perform very well.

Concert- When a singer or other artist gives a performance to the public/people

e.g. I wanted to go see Justin Beiber’s concert but he still has not come to China.

Poet- Poets are people who write poetry/poems.

e.g. Everyone thinks that if you want to be a poet, you must be a very sad person.

Rush hour- The time when everyone starts work and finishes work, morning and evening.

e.g. 8-10 am & 5-7 pm is considered to be rush hour in Shanghai.

In my childhood,I liked play a game named “Ji Gu Chuang Hua”with students in activity class or with peers after class.“Ji Gu Chuang Hua ”means in literal that the drum beat, the flower delivered,and when the drum stopped,stop delivering flower instantly .The more person we have,the more funny the game,as it need one person to stand with his back to all of us and clap his hands,the rest of us should sit in a circle and deliver something like flower or empty bottle one by one, when the stand person stop patting his hand, and at the same time the siting one who takes the passed thing need to show himself whatever he want,singing a song,telling a story, reciting a poetry,and so on.
Once I played the game with six children in my village on an afternoon. Only six players were kinda little so that we had to act many times in a short time. When everyone showed more than two times,we felt it was boring to play like this, and discussed new rules for more fun. In the end,we decided that the actor might tell a secret or find other enjoyable activities which all of us would play together.It was an impressive time we song,read loudly ,exchanged secrets, and did everything together.Whenever I recall that afternoon, I feel very happy. Sometimes I even expect to play the same game again with the same persons.

When the drum stops, you instantly stop passing the flower. The more people we have,the more fun the game,as it needs one person to stand with his back to all of us and clap his hands,the rest of us should sit in a circle and pass around something like a flower or an empty bottle one by one. When the person standing stops clapping his hands, and at the same time the one sitting who has the thing that is being passed around needs to perform whatever he wants, like singing a song,telling a story, reciting poetry,and so on.
