Homework

Review the new vocab, and try and do some research on any religion you choose.

Caste- kind of system of hierarchy in India. If you are a lower caste, you will not have a very good position in society.

e.g. He is part of the lower caste, so he can only work as a street cleaner.

Christian- A person who believes in Jesus Christ.

e.g. I was born as a Christian but when I grew up and became older, I didn’t follow it anymore.

Christianity- The name of the Christian religion.

e.g. Christianity is the main religion in Europe and the Americas.

Buddhism-Religion that believes in Buddha (Fo)

e.g. My mother is a buddhist, she believes in Buddhism.

Taoism- Dao (zhidao de dao) a Chinese philosophy/religion

e.g. Many people in China have read the Daoist book.

Islam- Believing in Allah, (Yisilan)

e.g. Islam is a very popular religion in the middle East.

Muslim-Someone who believes in Islam

e.g. There are many Muslims living in Xinjiang.

Confucianism-People who believe in Confucius

e.g. Many people in China believe in Confucianism

Zombie- A dead thing that comes back to life.

e.g. I don’t like zombie movies, they scare me.

Jesus Christ- The main person Christians believe.

Atheist- Someone who doesn’t believe in God.

e.g. People ask me if I’m religious, I always answer, no I’m an atheist.

Baptism- When children are washed in water and given a blessing.

e.g. When I was born, I was baptized and I became a Christian.

Karma- yingguo if you do something back to someone, it will come back to you.

e.g. Buddhists believe in Karma

Apocalypse- The end of the world.

e.g. I like to read books about the zombie apocalypse.
