Speaking exercise

Mr. Bean make sandwich. He get two breads. And he get one butter and he get vegetable. He get this vegetable in his sock. And he get two fish. But fish is frozen. He get tea and get milk and spits in the hot water bag. -> Mr. Bean made a sandwich. He got two pieces of bread. And he got butter and vegetables. He got the vegetable stuck in his sock. And he got two fish. But the fish is frozen. He got tea and milk. He spit into the hot water bag.

Grammar

Past tense – use past tense for action verbs that happened in the past.

ex: I went to school yesterday. He made a cake earlier today.

Mr. -> say “Mister” slowly; ex: Mr. Bean -> Mister Bean

Because I don’t like. -> Because I don’t like it.

Play video game. -> I like to play video games.

How to say years, dates:

Year: 2019 – twenty nineteen. say the first two numbers as one number, then the next two numbers as one number.

Dates: Say the month, then the placement form of the numbers (first, second, third, fourth, fifth… twenty-first, twenty-second…) then followed by the year. Ex: November 2, 2019 – [s] November second, twenty nineteen.

English class I say English. -> In English class, I speak English.

See Mr. Bean is very Happy -> When I watch Mr. Bean, I am happy. (Use “watch” when you see something on TV.

Vocabulary

Placement and date numbers: first (1st), second (2nd), third (3rd), fourth (4th), fifth (5th), sixth (6th), seventh (7th), etc.

Yell at – To scold someone, to tell someone to behave

ex: I stood up during class so my teacher yelled at me.

birthdate – the day you were born.

ex: My birthdate is November 2nd, 2019.

born – chu sheng. When a baby leaves a mothers stomach.

ex: When was your baby born?

Grade – the year you are in school. use the placement number.

ex: I am in second grade.

Test – an exam, a way to see how much students have learned\

ex: We took a test today in class. It was very hard.

Bread – mian bao

ex: I bought a loaf of bread.

Frozen – so cold it turns into ice.

ex: The fish was so cold it was frozen.

Smack – to hit something flat against something else

ex: Mr. Bean smacked the fish against the table.

Sneezes –  da peng ti.

ex: Mr. Bean sneezed and the tea flew everywhere.

Yesterday – the day before today
