VIP Class Notes (Bryce)

Today we focused on:

We spoke about his future as a chef and the foods he likes to cook.  We talked about playing sports.  There were some grammar issues that we fixed.  Generally, we had a nice conversation.  We looked at some pictures, too.

Vocabulary

Tag – a game that children play to chase each other around.  The object is to touch the other person and then they are OUT.

Dribble – In basketball, when a person uses their hand to bounce the ball up and down.

Shoot the ball – When a person stops dribbling and tries to throw the ball into the hoop.

Golf course – a place to play the game of golf, usually very expensive in China.

Scrambled eggs Versus Sunny-side up eggs – Scrambled is mixing up the eggs.  Sunny-side up is cracking the egg into the pan and leaving the “sun” showing.

Bagel – the round bread that has a hole in the middle.

Toaster – an electric machine that heats up and turns bread crispy, or toasted.

Pancakes – usually a breakfast food that is made from batter on a griddle

Camping – outdoor and overnight fun!

Skeleton – the body of bones that William wore as a costume for Halloween.

Billiards or pool – a table game with balls and a cue stick.

Roller skates – shoes with 4 wheels

I know some girls is afraid of this.  I know that some girls are afraid of snakes.

I sometimes there by foot.   I often walk there.  Other times, I am driven there in a car.

Speaking exercise

to chase somebody….. I like playing games where I can chase somebody.  In America, that game is call Tag.

play flute – One of my hobbies is to play the flute.
