We spoke about living in Shanghai.  We discussed some of our history.  We learned some new words.

Vocabulary

Space Port – In China, the place that space launches take place on Hainan Island…..is Wenchang.

Semi-retired – A person has primarily stopped working.  Not quite fully retired.  They use their free time to do other things that earn money and keep them busy.

Scholar – very educated person in a specific subject

Extraordinary – very good, above expectations

Beaches – where the sand meets the water along the coast.  Also, a great place to relax!

Ecuador –  a country in South America.  It is located along the equator and famous for its’ natural environment.  The Galapagos Island are nearby.  So are the Amazon jungle.  This is a Spanish speaking country.

stereo-type – it is a predetermined, often misconception, understanding of the way things are.

predetermined – something was decided before it happened

bias – like stereo-type
