VIP Class Notes (Bryce)

Today we focused on:

We chit-chatted about work and social life.  I listened for clarity on many stories.  We expanded vocabulary and assigned homework.  Nice class!

Vocabulary

PR (PUBLIC RELATIONS) – Your job function! haha.  This is communicating with the public on behalf of the company that you work for.

(KOL) Key Opinion Leaders – These are people whose opinion, or feelings on a product, can influence the behavior of other key decision-makers.

MERGED –  combined things

DISTRICT – areas of a city

FLASHBACK – a memory from your life back to a previous time…..usually with a special feeling (good or bad)

BOOMERANG – 1. An Australian wooden device that returns back to you, if thrown properly.  2.  To continually returning to a place, or situation, that you have done before

HANG OUT – normally, people do not PLAY with their friends.  They “go out”, or they HANG OUT with friends.  Playing with friends is ONLY used if you are doing some sport or competitive activity.

DRUNK – consume too much alcohol

VOMIT (THROW UP) –  food and water comes out of the mouth when: 1.  Sick  or 2.  Drinking too much alcohol

WHISKEY –  delicious, grain made alcohol

DRONE – a machine that flies and controlled remotely

BUMPED INTO EACH OTHER – randomly meeting a person that you have not seen for a long time

ROLLER SKATES – shoes with wheels that can be fun and supply good exercise

TEAMS – people working together to get something done

RECIPE –  list of items and instructions to cook something

SLEEPOVER – when you go a friends house and sleep over night…..usually staying up late to have fun together.

THANKSGIVING – an American holiday celebrating the early settler to the country.  The primary foods eaten, but not limited to, are: turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie

First, no dinner…and do many, many sports…and go to gym three times a week. – Firstly, I don’t eat dinner.  However, I do many types of exercise.  Such as, yoga, Pilates, and walking.  Plus, I go to the gym three times a week!

I play with my friends and I drinking with my friends at weekend.  I go (hang out) out drinking with my friends on the weekend.

Homework

Use some of the vocabulary from today in some writing. Choose a topic that lets you use the words we learned.
  1. PRACTICE ALL the words above in VOCABULARY.  Try to use ONE per day in a sentence with someone.  (Text messages are ok, too.)
