2017 is a busy year for me. It is end of the year now. When I looked back, it was a fruitful year for me. There are many new challenges at work and changes in the family, but at the same time, there are moments that I missed and cherished. I feel grateful for all the new opportunities and challenges, which all becoming good memories in 2017.

The main challenge at work is to work on new office in Beijing, which I have helped to open a new representative office, built up new channels and trained new colleague in Beijing. This market is different from shanghai, so I have to use different strategy and approach. I had traveled to Beijing at least once a month and spent a summer in there. The process is tiring, but rewarding. The grand opening was successful and senior managements from London are pleased with the results. While I was in Beijing, I took the opportunities to travel around the city. Compared with Shanghai, there are more to see in Beijing, in terms of culture, foods and outdoor spaces. The only annoyed parts in Beijing are the air qualities and the traffic, which you are hardly to avoid every day.

There are some changes in the family. I moved back to my father’s house after back from Beijing. Since my big brother’s family is moving to Australia at end of this year for good, my father wish that whole family can stayed together for few months. My brother just got his third children this summer, and I really enjoy my time with my brother’s three children every day after work. Now my big brother moved to Australia just before Christmas, the empty house looks lonely. Visiting my brother in Brisbane is one of my New Year plan.

Now it is the end of 2017 and when I look back and reflect, it was a busy and fruitful year for me. There were many new challenges at work and changes in my family, but at the same time, there are moments that are unforgettable that I will cherish forever.  I feel grateful for all the new opportunities and challenges, which are all becoming good memories from 2017.

The main challenge at work was to set up a new office in Beijing where I had helped to open a new representative office, built up new channels and trained new colleaguein Beijing. This market is different from shanghai, so I had to use different strategies and approaches. I had traveled to Beijing at least once a month and spent a summer there. The process was tiring, but rewarding. The grand opening was successful and the senior management from London are pleased with the results. While I was in Beijing, I took the opportunities to travel around the city. Compared with/to Shanghai, there is more to see in Beijing, in terms of culture, foods/cuisines and outdoor spaces, for example, the Great Wall and TianTang Park. The only annoying/frustrating parts in Beijing are the pollution / air qualities and the (bumper to bumper) traffic, which are unavoidable. / which you can hardly avoid every day.

There are some big/drastic changes in my family. I moved back to my father’s house after coming back/returning from Beijing in the summer. Since my big/eldest/oldest brother’s family moved to Australia just before Christmas for good, my father wished that the/my/our whole family could stay together for a few months. My brother, Yujung, and his wife just had their third child this summer, and I really enjoyed my time with my nieces and nephew every day after work. After they moved out, the empty house looks lonely. Visiting my brother and his family in Brisbane is one of my goals for the next year / plans for the new year.
