Taiwan government allowed LGBT get same sth. They didn’t allow marriage before but now they can do it. So it’s the first year anniversary these things.

Earlier this year, Taiwan‘s/Taiwanese government allowed LGBTQ to have more civil rights. For example, they didn’t allow same sex marriage before but now LGBTQ couples can (legally) get married. So my friend and I went to Taipei to celebrate the first anniversary of same-sex marriage in Taipei. 

Vocabulary

civil rights n. – the rights that each person has in a society, whatever their race, sex, or religion

recognize / recognizing / recognized / will recognize v. – to accept that something is legal, true, or important
eg. The government didn’t recognize same-sex marriage until now.

eg. If I get married, I want to have a simple, intimate wedding with my closest friends.
