Use some of the vocabulary from today in some writing. Choose a topic that lets you use the words we learned.

Vocabulary

initiate: fa qi

barge in: chuang ru (for actual rooms)

ie. The new policy is an intrusion/encroachment on personal freedom.

encroachment: qin zhan

“kick the bucket”: qiao bian zi

“bucket list”: things you want to do before you die. Grand wish list.

Grammar

accompany/company
– accompany is for events/parties
ie. Who is accompanying you (noun. plus-one) to the party?
– company is for friendship/family
ie. Ally came to SH to keep Lily company.

active voice:
– more subjective
– about the subject ( does the S initiate the V?)
– think about the verb “to be”
ie. We are together for a long time.
ie. We play together.
ie. We expect certain changes in the future. (more in control) / Certain changes are expected. (more out of control)

Speaking exercise

Writing exercise

Although I’m not good at making friends with strangers, friends are a big part in my life.
Friends are people who we keep together for the longest time in our life with. When we go to school, we start to make friends. And then we can not leave them, especially in our important life-moments. We are not born in one family, but our friendship are more than family member’s.
Therefore, keeping friends doesn’t have any skills, all we need is sincerity.

Although I’m not good at making friends with strangers, friends are a big part in my life.
Friends are people who we are together with for the longest time in our life/stay with us the longest. When we go to school/Ever since our pre-school days/our earliest days of school, we have been making friends. And then they will always stay by our side, especially in our important life-defining moments. We are not born into one family, but we can be closer than family members./our friendship isn’t any less important than relationship with family.
Keeping friends doesn’t require any skills, all we need is sincerity.
