Vocabulary

rebellious: (adj) pan ni de (v) rebel against (person) rebel
ie. Chris was very rebellious in her school days. (What C was like before, em. on school days)
ie. Chris rebelled against her teacher in her school days. (Emphasis on against teacher.)
ie. Chris was a rebel in her school days. (REALLY rebelled)

obedient (adj): shun cong (v) obey (n)obedience
ie. In/under the Chinese education system, children are taught(v) obedience(o) for their teachers(extra info).
ie. In/under the Chinese education system, children are taught to be(cont v) obedient to their teachers(extra info).

ie. Bribing government officials/employees is wrong/is a mistake.

ie. He slapped himself on the face.

eventually: zui zhong (lots  of things happened… lots of time went by)
ie. After lots of hours of hard work, he eventually finished the work from his boss./the work his boss asked him to do.

upset: (v and adj)angry and sad
ie. Don’t upset her.
ie. She gets upset very easily. (She’s very emotional. She’s drama queen.)

warning: (n)jing gao
ie. The teacher who made her student commit suicide just received a warning.

compliment (v and n): cheng zan
ie. Chris is always fishing/looking for compliments(n) from Ally.
ie. Chris always wants Ally to compliment her./wants compliments (n) from Ally.

bland: no flavor
ie. It was a very bland piece of writing.
ie. My fish is bland but your steak is delicious.

Grammar

Speaking exercise

You must memorize this grammar because it will on the test./you will be tested(v) on it.

This point made my understand
