Speaking exercise

My favorite teacher is my original basic English teacher. Because she’s from North-East so I very like her pronunciation in North-East and I think her teach us a lot of things about English and at class she always brings a lot of funny for us. Actually English is not very bad for me. In fact my English is not very well, just in primary school my English was well but now it’s very bad.

Grammar

  1. really / very

really works with everything: verbs, adjectives, adverbs
eg: I really like my sister (verb)
eg: He drives really slowly (adverb)
eg: That panda is really cute (adjective)

very only works with adjectives and adverbs, it doesn’t work with verbs
eg: She’s very nice (adjective)
eg: She writes very beautifully (adverb)

YOU CANNOT SAY:I very like scary movies / I very need a shower / I very hate my neighbor

2. fun / funny, what’s the difference?

fun is a noun
eg: I had a lot of fun in the class
eg: My friends had so much fun at the party

fun can also be used as an adjective
eg: This movie is really fun
eg: Put on make up is really fun, I think

funny is an adjective, can only be used as an adjective
eg: My friend has a funny dog

3. bored / boring 

someone is bored = someone is feeling bored
something / someone is boring = something / someone makes me feel bored

That person is bored = that person is feeling bored
My Math teacher is boring = My math teacher makes me feel bored

You cannot say “a thing is bored”, because a thing has no feelings, cannot feel bored. A thing is “boring”
eg: a boring movie
eg: this book is boring
eg: today is boring
