Write sentences with linking verbs (e.g. is/are/am) and use adjectives to describe things and people. E.g. He is handsome. They are happy.

Vocabulary

Enormous
I would buy an enormous house

Massive
I want a massive house

Chubby
She’s not fat. She’s just a little chubby.

cockroaches
Cockroaches are small but scary insects.

obedient
The dog is obedient because it comes when you call it.

Grammar

I play my phone
I play with my phone
Use ‘play with’ for most things except sports, games and musical instruments.

If I have a million dollars I will buy a big house.
If I had a million dollars I would buy a big house.
Use ‘had’ and ‘would’ if you are talking about something unreal.

She looks like beautiful and thin.
She looks beautiful and thin.
Use ‘look’ with adjectives and ‘look like’ with nouns.

The girl she is warm heart.
The girl is warmhearted.
Be careful not to use two subjects for the same person.
‘Warm heart’ is a noun phrase and ‘warmhearted’ is an adjective.

I think mice are more nasty cats
I think mice are nastier than cats
