    pick up strawberries

These days the weather is really very good and the virus is better than before. Our family began to go outside at weekends. Of course, we still pay attention to protect ourselves. We choose some large places and don’t gather .

The last few weekend we went to Fengxian district to pick up strawberries. The place was so large. At the gate of strawberry fields, the owner will give you a small basket and you can go to the warm sheds by yourself. There was several sheds for you to choose and you could pick up the field which you liked.

After you picked up, the owner would check the weight and then you paid it. After that, you could take them home.

On the site, the owner provided you water and also you could wash the strawberries immediately. My two kids washed them themselves.

It had a big grassland besides the strawberry fields, our friends and us ,we three families had a picnic on it. We built a tent and did some simply cooking for high tea, sitting together. Our kids flied kites and blew the bubbles, and also ran around the place. They all felt happy.

Both adults and child enjoyed ourselves.

    Vocabulary

    ceremony: 典礼;仪式

    eg. a wedding graduation ceremony

    grand: impressive and large

eg. They had a grand ceremony to celebrate the birth of their first-born child.

    Speaking

My wedding is very simple, just eat together with family and relatives. Only some important friends, less than ten. At that moment, my husband and I hadn’t a lot of money. We don’t want to use our parents’ money. They earn the money very hard, if we use it, we feel very bad. At that moment, we had a very simple, dinner with our friends and family, but we have travel to Bali.

So I think honeymoon is more important than the wedding. I think later on we would have kids but even though we would have travel and even if we have kids, I think the maybe not the same situation. I think the honeymoon is our own thing but the ceremony is not my thing. At most meaning like let other people know how happy you are. So I had a dinner to satisfy my parents and his parents. Some people told me honeymoon is not very necessary because they think they will have a lot of travel in the future but I think your opinions will change in the future.

    Revised:

We didn’t want to use our parents’ money. They worked hard to earn money so if we used it, we would feel very bad. Dear Madam,

I have heard your trouble about being fond of eating chocolates. Actually I don’t like to eat sweets or desserts and maybe I cannot understand why you cannot stopping eating chocolates the whole day. But I am the person who is fond of eating snacks especially savoury snacks.

I also have the problem that maybe you have. I know your feeling about it. Eating makes me happy and on the other hand it troubles me because of weight and so on.

I have some opinions to share with you.

First, you can buy less chocolates at home. When you want to eat it and you find that you have to go outside to buy. It will take you much more time and sometimes maybe you are too lazy to buy it. Even at last you go out to buy chocolates but it takes you a little bit time to think about it. So you eat less.

Second, you can choose expensive chocolates to eat. Every day you have to eat 10 bars of chocolates. If it will spend you a lot of money and you will consider if you should buy them or not.

At last, you can search some pictures on the internet of fat women. Every time you eat and take a look at these pictures then think about that you will be fatter and fatter. What a terrible thing it is.

I know it is not a simple thing for you to stop eating chocolates but maybe you can reduce the quantity.

I hope that you will be successful in the future.

    Yours kindly,
    Sally

    Revised:

Dear Cheryl, (address by first name- not so formal)

I have heard about your problem with eating chocolates/ being fond of eating chocolates/problem where you are addicted to eating chocolates. Personally, I don’t like to eat sweets or desserts and I cannot fully understand why you cannot stop eating chocolates for the whole day. But I am someone who is fond of eating snacks, especially savoury snacks.

I also have the problem that maybe you have. I know how you feel about it. Eating makes me happy but, on the other hand, it troubles me because I gain weighamong other problems.

I have some opinions/thoughts to share with you.

First, you can stock up on less chocolates at home. When you want to eat them and you find that you have to go outside to buy, it will take you more time/it is time-consuming so you might feel lazy to buy them/you will be put off from buying them. Even if you go out to buy chocolates, you will hesitate to buy so you eat less.

Next, you can choose expensive chocolates instead. Since you have to eat 10 bars of chocolates every day, you will spend a lot of money so you will reconsider before you buy.

At last/Lastly, you can search for some pictures on the internet of fat women. Every time you eat and take a look at these pictures, imagine that you will become fatter and fatter. How terrible!

I know it is not easy for you to stop eating chocolates but you can try to reduce the quantity.

    I wish you well.

    Cheers/Love,

    spots/pimples: 痘痘

    Pronunciation

    sugar: shoe-gar

    giant – jy-yant

    Reading

1 I know that I have a problem – a big problem. It may sound funny but it’s very bad for me – for my health and for my life. What’s the problem? I can’t stop eating chocolate!

2 I started eating chocolate as a child of course; me and my sisters all ate a lot of different kinds of chocolate. However, my sisters and I are adults now and I’m the only one who still eats it
a lot. My elder sister can have a bar of Toblerone and make it last a week. My younger sister is happy with one box of chocolates a year for Mother’s Day. My parents don’t eat any chocolate at all. Me – I need it every day, and lots of it too.

3 So, how much do I eat? Well, I have about 10 bars of chocolate a day. My first bar is at 8 o’clock in the morning, and then I have my last one just before I go to bed. Sometimes if there’s no chocolate in the house I drive to the nearest shop that sells it (about 2 kilometres away) and buy some more. I even drive out late at night if I need some chocolate. If the children (and this is terrible, I know) have chocolate in the house I take it. When Sarah was eight someone gave her a box of chocolates for her birthday. I took the box and then, when she was out playing, I ate some. Then I ate some more. I finished the whole box! A few days later she said, “Where’s my box of chocolates?” and I said, “I don’t know”. I know that was very bad. At Christmas we got a giant family-sized bag of chocolate sweets, I ate the whole bag on my own in two days!

4 I know eating a lot of chocolate is bad for my health. There’s a lot of sugar in all types of chocolate. There’s also a lot of fat. I think that’s why I have many spots on my face, and I’m a little overweight too. Sometimes I try to stop but if I don’t have any, I get very bad headaches. However, as soon as I have some chocolate I feel better and happier too. I know that it’s also very bad to take and eat chocolate that’s not mine but I can’t stop myself.

5 What can I do? Even at night I dream about chocolate. My favourite dream is falling down a hole and landing on a big pile of chocolate bars! I really do want to stop, or start to eat less. At the supermarket there’s always chocolate for sale while I wait to pay for my shopping. At the station (bus, train, underground…) there’s always chocolate for sale in machines. Everywhere I look there’s chocolate for sale! I try to speak to my family but nobody understands. They all like chocolate but nobody wants to eat 10 bars a day, and nobody understands why I do.

One night a taxi driver suggested he didn’t put the meter on and offered a cheaper price for the journey. Too tired to argue she agreed. But just as the taxi was about to turn the final corner a man opened the door and jumped in beside her! She thought he wanted a ride so she decided to get out. But the man wouldn’t let her pay and started shouting angrily at the driver. To my friend’s horror he then started hitting the driver around the head. Rather frightened she got out the car and ran down the road. Only later did she find out that the taxi driver had been caught stealing from his company and they didn’t want him to get away with it.

my trip to Disneyland with your family

The year ago, my husband and I took our two kids to Disneyland. I bought season cards, so we could go there for any times in three months.

It took us one hour on the way to Disneyland. Though everytime I and my husband were exhausted, our two kids were happy. My son and my daughter had talked to us from the starting to the end even on the way.

Some famous items would spend us a long time waiting. But it’s O.K.. Our kids played with each other and had a chat with us.

I think it is a amazing and beautiful amusemen park. We both had a happy time in it. I plan to have my trip to Disneyland this year again.
