Occasion
When my baby was born, my husband heard the first cry from my daughter, he could not control his tears of joy, this was a special occasion for him.
I have seen 3 occasions when he gave a speech after he drank some alcohol, although he is a shy guy, he can be confident.

In a tourist trap, sometimes we cannot control to buying things which we don’t want to buy because of scams. 
Normally, in China, tourist traps are the part of a trip

thinking back on
I was thinking back on my childhood time and have many happy memories.

My daughter likes to watch cartoons, my husband loves the sport shows, but with just one television at home, so they take turns watching TV.
Family members have responsibility to keep the home clean, everyone needs to take a turn mopping the floor

if you get a large loan from a/the bank, one of the solution is depositing your house

getting a loan from a/the bank to buy something is normal in China

my daughter asked me to help her to do her homework, I rejected her

What happened?

I have a meeting in my factory, so its not close to here so I cancelled the class. – I had a meeting in my factory.

I’m busy that day. – I was busy that day.

Something came up (Suddenly I needed to do something)
eg: I can’t go with you for to a movie, because something came up.

I had something to do. (Need to do something)
eg: Because I have something to do so let’s push back the meeting.

I had a family thing. (Have a thing… = you’re busy)
eg: I cancelled the business trip because I have a family thing.  / I cancelled the business trip for a family thing.
