Vocabulary
Get to know – to learn about someone or something
e.g. Before I go to the Czech Republic (Czechia) I want to get to know
Most of the time – more often than not, usually
e.g. Most of the time, I like to drink tea, but sometimes I drink coffee.
Sponsor – a person or company that gives money to help with something, and then you put their name in public places at the event or in some building
e.g. In our town we are having a big race, and the local bank has donated $1000 as a sponsor.
e.g. Nike is sponsoring this trip to Ximalaya.
Venue – the place where an event will be
e.g. The main venue for the Prague Quadrennial is the Prague Exhibition Grounds. However, it looks like the theater venue is the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Faculty of Theater (DAMU) at Karlova Street 26. Tram line 17 connects both of these locations, so maybe this would be a good line to stay near.
e.g. The venue for swimming events in the 2008 Beijing Olympics was called “the Cube.”
