Vocabulary

Popsicle – ice with sugar and flavor, on a stick

Grammar

In / on / at with time:
In is the largest – years, months, centuries, weeks (also for parts of the day: in the afternoon)
On is for days or dates: on your birthday, on Friday
At is for times: at 7, at noon

Eat when I walk – Eat while I walk
— “When” is about what you do generally, in this case.
— “While” shows that you’re doing two things at the same time.

Walk by vs. Walk down vs. Walk along
— “Walk by” means you pass something by you don’t go in the place, or walk on the road
— “Walk down” means you walk on the road, and it is from the perspective of a destination, or going away from somewhere
— “Walk along” is about being in the process of walking; thinking about the walking, not where you’re going

Litter – litter is a “mass noun,” so it has no plural form; there is no “litters”

Changli Road is a well known food road in Pudong New Area. There are a lot of delicious snacks on that road. When I was a student, I went to buy some chicken strips or octopus balls at Friday after school. You can see a few students in front of these stalls. Another welcomed snack in students’ group is milk tea. The kinds of milk tea were not as many as today, but it was as delicious as now. One cup of milk tea with a package of chicken strips were my favorite food during that time. There were also some street vendors which sold key chainsã€notebooksã€nice pencils and other interesting things on that road. But now you can’t see a lot of street vendors on it because of the environment improvements. Food stalls on that road are less than before due to the same reason. The stalls and vendors have their fixed place on that road and only in the afternoon they can open their stalls. The delicious food street-Changli Road is only in the past, in people’s memories.
