Vocabulary

Mortal Enemy – when two people cannot be alive at the same time, they cannot rest until one of them is dead
e.g. I am not afraid of mosquitoes, I just view them as my mortal enemies.

Bug Zapper – anything that will use electricity to kill a flying bug
e.g. My Mom has a zapper in the shape of a tennis racket so that you can swing it at bugs.

Deserve – someone’s actions make some result appropriate; the word itself is neutral because good actions will deserve good results and bad actions will deserve bad results

Divisive – something about which people often have very strong emotions and so if you say something wrong people could get very angry
e.g. Politics tends to be a divisive topic.

Restore – to bring something old back to a good condition

Pickpocket – a small-time thief who takes things out of your pockets, like wallets, watches, phones, etc.
Blend in – to dress or act like other people in a group so that other people won’t notice you
e.g. The pickpockets in Spain dress like tourists to blend in with their victims.
