Revised:

I don’t like to collect things because I know I am only have a short interest in something. For other people, first,  I think they collect things which will become valuable in the future such as gold, old paper money or stamps. They keep them and give/pass them on as inheritance to their children or grandchildren in the future. The second reason is, they will recall their memories/remind them of something when they get older as these things have become an important part of life.
