1.public affection= show your love in public
ex: Some people like to show public affection.

2. catch up / keep up = 跟得上
ex: it’s very hard to catch up with their speed.

3. immerse= 沉浸
ex: you need to immerse yourself in the language.

4. pick up= to learn
ex: I need to pick up French because I haven’t reviewed it for a long time.
ex: it’s important to pick up new skills in life to enrich yourself.

I had a meeting yesterday. It’s terrible, I think I cannot say English fluently in the meeting. There are too many people in the meeting, when you talk, someone else talk, I don’t have the opportunity to speak anything, because I usually take some time to think first then speak. I’m slower, I don’t feel good because I’m not so confident for my English.

I started my cooking classes the week before last week, to make dumplings. The classes were postponed for a month due to the coronavirus. The school re-opened. I can get a certificate if I complete the course and pass the examination. I also can get tax refund for the tuition fee.

There were too many people in the meeting, when you talk, someone else talks as well, I didn’t have the opportunity to say anything, because I took some time to think first before I speak. I reacted slower, I don’t feel good because I’m not so confident in speaking English.
