Vocabulary

1.museum= bo wu guan
ex: Sometimes I have to line up at the museum.
ex: I see fossils at the museum.

2. fossil= Hua shi
ex: When I see a fossil, I don’t know what animal it is.
ex: There are many fossils in the museum.

3. upset (adj)= mad
ex: I am upset when I’m hungry.
ex: I am upset when I can’t play video games.

2. groceries= food that you buy
ex: my mom and my dad will buy groceries.
ex: I can’t buy groceries because I don’t have money.

4. a few= a little (countable)
ex: I ate a few oranges today.
ex: I have a few cups

5. onion= yang long
ex: I don’t like onions because I don’t like the taste.
ex: Onions can make people cry.

6. cheese= zhi shi
ex: I like to eat cheese pizza.
ex: Mouses like cheese because it tastes good.

7. spend= Hua
ex: spend money
ex: spend time
ex: I like to spend money on the game.
ex: I spend a lot of time on working.
ex: I don’t spend time on studying.

8. wonder= think to yourself
ex: I wonder what should I eat tonight.
ex: I wonder where is my iPad.

Reading

Henry is at the supermarket, and he’s really upset. He just bought some groceries and he can’t believe he just spent sixty dollars. He bought only a few oranges, a few apples, a little milk, a little ice cream and a few eggs.

He also bought just a little coffee, a few onions, a few bananas, a little rice, a little cheese and a few lemons. He didn’t buy very much fish, he didn’t buy very many grapes, and he didn’t buy very much meat. Henry just spent sixty dollars, but he’s walking out of the supermarket with only two bags of groceries. No wonder he’s upset.

I bought a few egg, because my dad and my mum like eggs.  I bought some meat, because our family want the dinner have some meat.  I bought a little fries, because I like eat fries.  I bought a few apple, because I and my friend like eat apples.  I bought a few pear, because my mum like eat pears.
