Vocabulary
1. chips / these are the coins you use in poker
e.g. Each poker chip is worth 1 RMB.
2. to bluff / to lie – and tell your opponent you are strong when you are actually weak
ex: “she has more than 100 Chanel bags” “she’s bluffing”
3. boast (verb)= 炫耀
ex: she likes to boast on her family background.
4. moments (noun)= 朋友圈
ex: I don’t like to post on my moments because there’s nothing interesting about me.
5. add me on wechat= 加我微信
ex: you can add me on WeChat.
6.“wrote him off…” / to disregard him to to say that this person does not have a chance to succeed / I don’t think you have the ability to accomplish something
ex: Cassie entered the poker tournament but all the men wrote her off because she was a woman.
7. fertility / the ability to have children (i.e. the mother or the father’s health and ability to have a baby)
ex: if you drink and smoke too much, your fertility rate will be low.
8. fanatic (n): 1-a person who has very extreme beliefs that may lead them to behave in unreasonable or violent ways

10. frame (v): 1-to make a person seem to be guilty of a crime when they are not, by producing facts or information that are not true

ex: He claimed he’d been framed by the police.
