Vocabulary

event – a planned public or social occasion

approval – the feeling of having a positive opinion of someone or something

ex. Many contestants on talent shows try extremely hard to win the judge’s approval.

gesture – a movement of the hands, arms, or head, etc. to express an idea or feeling

ex. hand gestures

direct – to control, be in charge of a situation, event etc.

ex. Traffic police direct traffic using hand gestures.

facial – to do with the face

ex. facial expressions

sign language – a system of language using hand gestures, facial expressions and body language
