funny – adj – usually describes something that makes you smile or laugh
The movie was a little funny, but not hilarious.
I like watching funny videos on my phone.

hilarious – adj – very funny
My cat is hilarious. He always makes me laugh

funny (special meaning) – strange
He smells funny. I don’t want to sit next to him.
