We practiced using the word ‘yet’ to ask and answer questions. This is a useful word because it adds a subtle new meaning to your sentence.

We also learned about different types of cutlery(knives, forks and spoons) and verbs that can be used with them.

Vocabulary

stir (verb) – to move liquid in a circle
I stir the tea with a spoon

spread (verb) – cover an area
I spread butter on the bread with a butter knife

countryside (noun) – the area away from the city
I went to the countryside to ride a horse

outskirts (noun) – the part of the city which is far away from the city center
I went to the outskirts of Beijing to visit a friend

receipt (noun) – the paper you get to prove you paid for something
I got a receipt from the supermarket

scene (noun) – This word can have different meanings. Today we used it with the meaning ‘a part of a movie’.
My favorite scene of Titanic was the one where they kissed.
