I was born in Colombia. I only went to the beach once, it was far away from my hometown, you needed a day to get there by car, because there are a lot of mountains. After I moved to Spain, I was beginning to know another beaches. I was living in Madrid all the time and the nearest beach was 3 and a half hours by car or 2 hours by train.
Now if we need to relax, I prefer go to the beach, if not, we go to others places.
why I decided beaches for relax holidays? because you only need six things: a good sea, a beach, a sun bed or hammock, beach umbrella, some towels, money and enjoy it. What you can doing? swimming, playing, reading, sleeping, eating, drinking, and you can repeat these in any order
