ration your food – to control how much you eat because of some shortage
eg. we need to ration our food

malnourished – unhealthy because of a lack of nutrients (vitamins etc)
eg. they are malnourished

eg. some fathers like to criticize their kids

argue / fight – chao jia

ran away from home – try to live somewhere else, not at home
eg. when I was a kid I almost ran away

lead by example – to teach people by letting them watch you / follow you
eg. I want to lead by example with my kids so they can see how to be a good person from me
