Talk about could / would and the feeling of “if”

Writing exercise

I love watching tennis matches, so I have been following some important international tennis events with Australia Open being one of the best, and I have expected that I can enjoy a brilliant Australia Open in 2021. However, it seemed that my dream failed since some players had to be quarantined for 14 days because they were on the same flights with 4 covid19 patients, that means they could not have enough pre-trainings before the matches. Some players complained on the social medias as the organizer of the Australia Open promised that if players’s swab test results were negative, then they could have at least 5 hours on-site training per day, but the agreement was changed, they had to stay at the hotel rooms which could not support any training environment, and it would affect their performance directly. I felt so sorrow to hear the news as I believed most players got the pass through tough trainings, and hoped to get success from the matches, but now they might not achieve. On the other side, I am worried about the Tokyo Olympic as its opening day would be in June and I was not sure if Covid19 could be controlled at that time.
